Eannes Ongus
Founder and Chairman
Mr. Eannes Ongus is the Director, Advancement & Partnership, which oversees departments of Resource Mobilization (Development), Alumni Relations, Partnerships & External Linkages and Mastercard Foundation Initiatives at USIU-Africa. Previously, he served as Chief Manager, Development, leading the university’s resource mobilization/fundraising efforts with a focus on grants, annual and capital campaigns, partnership development and alternative funding models for financing university’s infrastructural projects. Mr. Ongus also leads the university’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives/commitments to Education, Sustainability and Governance.
Previously, he served, as Director - Fundraising, Grants and Partnership and Diversity Education Institute (DEI) contact for Africa, was Fundraising and External Relations Officer at USIU-Africa, Finance and Administration unit at United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR- Kakuma).
Mr. Ongus holds a BSc. Information Systems and Technology from USIU-Africa and Master’s Degree in Leadership and Management from York St. John University, United Kingdom.
Alice Mwadzoya
Director and Interim CEO, EAAL Foundation
Miss Alice Chitsaka Mwadzoya is a seasoned Banker, worked for Family Bank for 8 years and currently working at Kingdom Bank.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration from USIU-A, Master’s Degree in Leadership and Management from York St. John’s University (UK) and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from USIU-A.
Alice is a mother of two and is very passionate in supporting vulnerable individuals through financial support and offers her time to empower people.
Above all, Alice is God fearing and strongly believes that support to vulnerable people is a great virtue to fulfill and extend God’s purpose to humanity.
Edwin Wachie
Manager, Security Services USIU-Africa
Edwin Wachie is an accomplished and performance driven professional and security expert, having worked as a police officer in the National Police Service, Kenya Police Service.
Currently, he works for United States International University- Africa (USIU-Africa) as a Manger, Security Services. He holds a MasterÃs Degree in Security Management & Police Studies from Kenyatta University, a BachelorÃs Degree in Psychology with a bias in Criminal Justice from USIU-Africa. He obtained a qualification certification of a Professional Diploma in Forensics and Criminal Investigation from The Kenya Institute of Studies in Criminal Justice. He is an accredited Clarity4D Facilitator. Edwin is a special member of The Kenya Cyber Security Forensic Association (KCSFA)& a member of Security Experts Association.
Esther Mwangi
Executive Director, Coalition for Peace and Gender Champions in Africa
Njeri Mwangi is a seasoned thought leader on issues of Human Rights, Social Justice, Peace and Gender.
She is a Champion for Women Rights as equal Human Rights. As an Educationalist she supports gender equality through community voice and transformation.
Her experiences range from Human Rights, Movement Building, Community Organizing, Peace Building, Global Governance and Digital Rights.
She is trained in Communications, Public Policy and is an Alumni to different Prestigious Fellowships and Institutes.She is a Believer in Decolonising Aid and Devolved Philanthropy. As leader She believes in resourcing and funding of grassroot organisations. She serves as the Executive Director of Coalition for Peace and Gender Champions.
Eddah Kipyego
CEO, Jenga Future Initiative
Eddah Kipyego is a dedicated development practitioner with a decade of experience in youth-focused community work. As the founder and executive director of Jenga Future Initiative, she drives impactful change by fostering innovative and sustainable solutions for vulnerable communities, particularly prioritizing the well-being of youth, indigenous groups, and persons with disabilities. With a Bachelor of Arts in Sustainable Human Development, Eddah is committed to building resilience and adaptive capacity in underserved populations, enabling equitable and sustainable pathways out of poverty. Her passion for social transformation fuels her mission to create positive, lasting impacts in society.
Joyce Otieno
Youth Representative/Lead Mentor, EAAL Foundation Scholar, USIU-Africa
Joyce Achieng’ Otieno stands as a beacon of youthful insights and vibrant energy on the EAAL Foundation’s Board of Advisors, embodying the essence of the transformative power of education and community development. As an EAAL scholar and a student of International Relations, majoring in Development with a minor in psychology at United States International University-Africa, she brings a comprehensive and intricate understanding of the mechanisms that foster societal progress.
Serving as a Youth representative at the advisory committee and a Lead Mentor at the EAAL Foundation, Joyce transcends mere titles, passionately advocating for youth empowerment by leveraging her academic insights and life experiences to foster growth and inspiration.
Linet Aguko
Director, Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at USIU-Africa
Holds a Master of Business Administration(MBA) specialty in Strategic Management and a Bsc. in International Business Administration both from United States International University (USIU-Africa). I have several capacity building trainings in Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Leadership and Data Protection.
I am a distinguished Student advocate, Student Recruitment/Admissions counselor and Project Manager with over 11 years’ wealth of experience in higher education with special focus on Recruitment, support and advocacy for access a for students from High achieving Low income students including refugees and Youth Living with Disability. I have worked for United States International University for the 9 years in Student admission counselling currently serving as the Program Director for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at USIU-Africa, spearheading the implementation of the program, the first of its kind in the university. I’m the recipient of the International Career &College counselling (IC3) 2021 award in Counselling-Based approach to Student Recruitment/Admissions and Duolingo Inc. 2022 We Rise Together Awards in student Advocacy. I am also a member of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program Advisory Committee.
